This week we’re celebrating Talecia! We’re so happy to congratulate her on her one-year anniversary at the YMCA Newman Early Learning Centre as part of Thriving Futures, where she continues to flourish into a wonderful educator.

“The highlight for me over this last year was watching the toddlers grow and develop from nervous two-year old’s to very confident three-year olds.”

In congratulating her, our Thriving Futures Mentors, Connie and Trina visited to give her a small token of appreciation to let her know how proud the organisation is to be a part of her personal and professional growth. The Thriving Futures program is supporting Talecia in achieving her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Connie has provided ongoing mentorship as she undertakes her Diploma and develops her skillset working at the YMCA Newman. As a point of reflection, Talecia shared her experience of the program in the last year.

“I think the scholarship opportunity I have been given to study my diploma through Thriving Futures is fantastic, I’m very grateful and am so glad I get to put my theoretical skills into practice right away.”

Living in Newman, Talecia has found working in such a central point of community an amazing way to stay connected with what’s going on in town and to interact with the many wonderful children and families that come through the Centre. Thriving Futures has allowed her to jump into the next stage of her career in Early Childhood Education, providing an extra sense of confidence when completing her studies. Our Thriving Futures’ staff love to check in, have a chat, and celebrate exciting Educator milestones.

As a mentor, Connie has been thrilled to see Talecia’s professional growth over the past year.

“Celebrating our Early Childhood Educators is a massive part of what we do at Thriving Futures. We believe fostering relationships between educators, mentors, childcare centers, and the wider community helps establish a positive and empowering learning environment for our candidates.”

Talecia has recently shared with us one of the highlights of her experience so far, with the children’s development at the center of this.

“If I had to pinpoint my greatest achievement over the past year it would’ve been assisting two toddlers to settle securely into childcare life. I have formed great bonds with these children which helped them to settle and feel confident in this new and foreign setting for them.”

From our team at Thriving Futures, keep up the amazing work Talecia! We can’t wait to see what you achieve in the new year, and the rest of your career in in Early Childhood Education and Care.
