Welcome to the Thriving Futures Academy!

The Thriving Futures Academy is a work-readiness program focused on cultivating, nurturing and developing a sustainable early learning workforce in the Thriving Futures regions. Building on the success of the Thriving Futures project, The Academy provides candidates an accelerated entry pathway into early learning and outside school hours care settings, resulting in more families accessing high quality care for their children.

Candidates do not need to be qualified or have previous experience in Early Childhood Education and Care Services to join The Academy. This is a unique and rich opportunity to explore and gain confidence in working in an Early Years environment.

Academy Overview

The Thriving Futures Academy will introduce candidates to the possibility of an Early Years career through a dedicated and supportive 12-week immersion program. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical training, candidates will be prepared for an accelerated entry pathway into the Early Education and Care sector with sufficient confidence, knowledge and real-world experience to secure employment.

Candidates will cover foundational units of learning in:

  • Active Supervision

  • Child Development

  • Protective Behaviours

  • Communication Skills and Requirements

  • HR and Employer Related Expectations

  • Health and Hygiene

  • Positive Interaction with Children

Candidates will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders in the sector and undertake supported placement within an Early Learning Centre or Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) service.
